Climmie Herd

Funeral services for Climmie Herd, 88, of Baxter, Tennessee will be conducted Monday, April 21, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow in Palmer Cemetery.

Mrs. Heard died Saturday, April 19, 2003 at NHC of Cookeville.

Mrs. Heard was born May 20, 1914 in Putnam County, Tennessee to the late Earl and Fronie Roberts Oaks.

She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Heard, 3 children - Darnell Heard, infant daughter and infant son.

Survivors are: 4 daughters - Lana Faye Shanks of Baxter, Sharon Nichols and Elizabeth Walker-Heard both of Cookeville, Virginia Herd of Murfreesboro, 1 son - Dorman Heard of Cookeville, 3 brothers - Fowler Oaks of Baxter, Earl Oaks of Ohio, and Norman Oaks of Indiana, Half-brother - Sam Steele of the Dodson Branch Community of Jackson County, Half-sister - Pauline Hammons of California, 12 grandchildren - Theresa Huddleston, Billy Shanks, Tammy Christian, Kenneth Stacy, Jeff & Jason Herd, Adam Johnson, Brian Nichols, Amy Dyer, Marty Barnes & Chad Allen, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Bro. Fred Hawkins and Bro. Jim Holifield will officiate.

Family will receive friends after 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 20 at the funeral home.

Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home of Baxter, TN is in charge of the arrangements.
