Payton Freeman Grogan
Funeral Services for Payton Freeman Grogan, 68 of Cookeville will be Tuesday, June 24 at 11am from the Cookeville Chapter of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with burial in Cookeville City Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Mr. Grogan died suddenly Friday morning, June, 20, 2003 in the emergency room at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 5, 1935 in Putnam County to the late Haskell Grogan, Sr. and the late Nancy Dunn Grogan. He was the retired owner of A-1 Office Furnishings; a U.S. Army veteran and of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by a brother Donald Grogan and a sister Bernice Elmore.
He is survived by wife, Patsy Hunter Grogan (whom he married November 23, 1991) of Cookeville, son Steve Grogan, step-daughter Debra Ann Dixon of Crossville, 3 step-sons Darrell Thompson of Sparta, Thomas and Freddy Thompson both of Cookeville, 3 brothers Layton Grogan of Gainesboro, Austin Grogan of Lewisburg, TN, Haskell Grogan Jr. of Tullahoma, TN, half-sister Ara Farley of Cookeville, 2 grandchildren: Heather and Ryan Grogan, 5 step-grandchildren: Tayna Thompson, Amanda, Elisha, Taylor & Tiffany Dixon.
Friends will serve as pallbearers.
Bro. Harold Walker & Bro. Matt Henderson will officiate.
Family will receive friends Monday June 23 from 5 to 9pm at the funeral home.
