Margaret Smotherman McKinley

Private family graveside services for Margaret Smotherman McKinley, 90, of Cookeville, Tennessee will be conducted Saturday, April 12, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at Ridgewood Cemetery in Carthage with Bro. Billy Parkerson officiating.

Mrs. McKinley passed away Thursday, May 20, 2003 at N.H.C. Healthcare in Cookeville, TN.

Mrs. McKinley was born December 5, 1912 in Smith County, Tennessee to the late James Lemuel and Lula McCarver Smotherman.

Mrs. McKinley was a retired secretary with State Farm Insurance Co. She was a graduate of Smith County High School and Martin Methodist College. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Pilot Club and Eastern Star.

Mrs. McKinley was preceded in death by her husband - Robert B. McKinley on JUly 20, 1995, 2 sisters - Eleanor Smotherman and Laura Smotherman Royster, and a nephew - Howard Smotherman.

She is survived by a niece - Jean Ellen Royster Swearingen of Carmichel, California, brother-in-law - James McKInley, Jr. of Lebanon, TN, nephews - Charles William Royster of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, James Smotherman of Birmingham, Alabama, 7 great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McKinley's family will receive friends Friday, April 11, 2003 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home.
