Mark Wynn Chaffin

Funeral services for Mark Wynn Chaffin, 43, of Sevierville, Tennessee will be conducted Monday, April 14, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home.

Mr. Chaffin was dead on arrival Friday, April 11, 2003 at Ft. Sanders Hospital in Sevierville.

Mr. Chaffin was born December 20, 1959 in Lafayette, Indiana to Hubert and Shirley Nuss Chaffin of Baxter, TN.

Mr. Chaffin was the salutatorian of the 1978 graduating class at Upperman High School in Baxter. He was a member of the Beta Club, was a state and national winner, 1st place in 4-H speaking, was also a delegate to the National 4-H Congress, and was among Who's Who in America. He graduated from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a B.S. degree in International Transportation with a 4.0 average. He was owner-operator of Chaffin International Inc. in Sevierville as a ginseng broker and over seas exporter. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a licensed broker.

He is survived by his wife - Lorraine Smith Chaffin and son Ryan Chaffin, both of Sevierville, parents Hubert and Shirley Nuss Chaffin of Baxter, sister and brother-in-law - Tamara and Roy Hughes of McMinnville, brother and sister-in-law Jamie and Kimberly Chaffin of Baxter, nieces and nephews: Dakota, Elizabeth, Alex, Samantha, Jessica and Jedidiah.

Bor. Dewayne Chaffin will officiate.

Mr. Chaffin's family will receive friends Sunday, April 13, 2003 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Baxter chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home.
