Textural Neutrals: Check Out Crossville’s Latest Design Inspiration Feature

July 27, 2022

Neutral colors are a standard decorating tool – stylish and easy to work with. From creating soothing moods to providing a visual backdrop, neutral color palettes are the standard starting point for many designers. When decorating with neutral colors, bringing in texture creates interest and layers – important factors when strong colors are out of the picture. Adding textures to the neutral tones also provides much needed depth to many spaces.

Deisgners know that using textures like linen, suede, velvet, cable knits, and sheepskin can add interest to the overall design and blend with the surfacing materials on the floors and walls. But what about adding texture with  tile?

Traditionally, tile was always installed to be right-angled and flat. But as printing technologies become more advanced and sophisticated, tile design is expanding beyond classic applications to add more texture and character to walls and floors. Richly textured tile with bumps and grooves that beg to be touched have quickly grown in popularity.

With an array of neutral tones and textures, Crossville’s latest flatlay feature showcases some of our textured tile  surfacing solutions that are ideal for healthcare facilities, food service, hospitality, and even your home!

Learn more about each of these beautiful collections:

Owen Stone – Sable

Owen Stone’s leathered finish offers a buttery, cashmere-like feel that is unique to Crossville—a first for porcelain tile. Smooth, silky to the touch, this finish is perfect for bare-feet floors and luxurious wall finishes, yet features DCOF suitable for commercial applications.

Filo – Oro

Filo blends technology and style through the creation of a surprising texture, stemming from the image of a continually repeated glistening wire that forms a woven pattern, a shiny metal surface.

Reformation – March On

Revolutionize the way you see concrete with Reformation from Crossville. Concrete visuals with movement, pitting, aggregate, and sheen variation are reinterpreted in stylish planks, creating a completely contemporary look.

Fokos – Terra

Sand, earth, salt, and rock come together in a palette inspired by Grecian landscape. Where earth meets man and nature converges with design you find Fokos porcelain tile panels.

At Crossville, we’re capturing the visual essence of upcoming design trends through flatlay photography. We like to include individual tile pieces that convey how Crossville collections align with these inspired themes and moods.
